THE LUXURY WEST COAST EXPERIENCE (3 NIGHTS)
The coasts and waters of Scotland's West Coast are truly magnificent. Here you will experience the country's most stunning views, visit the area's famous lochs, and delight in sampling Scotland's world-renowned finest seafood. Your chauffeur will meet you on arrival in Glasgow and, after a short drive, you will arrive on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. During your three-day experience, you
will travel onwards to Loch Fyne, visit the third-largest whirlpool in the world, and enjoy some time in the market town of Oban. Overnight stays in the Crinan Hotel, on the banks of the Crinan Canal, and on your own private island at the Isle of Eriska Hotel complete this truly unique waterside experience.
“We would not have seen Scotland in the most spectacular ways if it had not been for our driver guide - a driver and travelling companion who always showed when we needed him, laughed at our jokes, and pushed us to see more. The consummate professional, the reserved gentleman, the helpful guide.”
Glasgow should be your gateway arrival point for a magnificent three-night coastal escape on the West Highlands. After leaving the city behind you will soon reach the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and then head across the Arrochar Hills, eventually reaching the shores of Loch Fyne, one of the largest and deepest lochs on the west coast. With your appetite stoked by the prospect of some fresh Scottish seafood, an appetising lunch stop could be made at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. From here you will head further along the shores of the loch to Lochgilphead before following the banks of the Crinan Canal where Crinan Hotel proudly sits overlooking the loch.
Today you could take a boat trip from the harbour into the Sound of Jura and across into the Gulf of Corryvreckan, a narrow and deep stretch of water between the north of Jura and Scarba which, twice a day, results in whirlpools, standing waves, and other surface water marvels. It is the 3rd largest whirlpool in the world! After returning to dry land and taking lunch locally, the afternoon could be spent with a visit to the Kilmartin Standing Stones. This extraordinary collection of almost 80 ancient gravestones date from as far back as the 13th & 14th centuries. The glen is the richest prehistoric landscape in Scotland and within an area of 6 miles, there is a huge diversity of standing stones, stone circles, carved rocks and ancient tombs. There may also be the opportunity to visit the studio of the fantastic artist, Frances Macdonald - Frances has been a professional painter for more than 25 years and has exhibited throughout Scotland, London, and abroad.
Having focused on the outdoors, today you will leave the marine environment of Crinan and head a little further north towards the private island of Eriska. The market town of Oban lies between Crinan and Eriska, and there would be ample opportunity to have a gentle wander through the town and visit the Oban Distillery – one of the most popular in Scotland. Soon after leaving Oban, you could head straight to the stunning Isle of Eriska Hotel where the rest of the day could be spent taking full advantage of all this tranquil island has to offer, from indulging in a game of golf, taking a stunning nature walk, or relaxing in the famous hotel spa.
Having ensured that your departure flight from Glasgow is not until mid to late afternoon, after breakfast you could indulge in a final walk around the island before returning south to Glasgow Airport or station for your onward travel journey.

From the moment you arrive at the airport or train station, you will be cosseted in the kid-gloved hands of your very own touring chauffeur. As you pass through the glorious countryside visiting castles and historical landmarks, the country will open up in front of you in a way that can only happen when someone else is doing the driving. What's more, you can relax each time you visit a distillery in the full knowledge that driving is not something you will need to worry about on the other side!
Can I change elements of the itinerary?
Of course, the very essence of a chauffeur driven tour is flexibility so we can tailor the experience to accommodate your own needs. Let us know your thoughts and we can adapt any trip as required or create something completely bespoke.
How many people are included in this package?
The starting point for the tour creation has been for them to involve two people sharing a room and one of our chauffeur driven cars, but that should not be seen as a limitation or restriction. Hotel pricing can be based on single occupancy and if more than one room is required then we can provide you with full costings. Prices for the chauffeur driven car will always be based on a price per vehicle not per person. Our luxurious Mercedes V-Class people carriers can carry up to 6 or 7 people and are ideal for families, and again the cost is per vehicle, not per person. Contact us for more information.
What are the terms and conditions?
As each trip is individually tailored, each will have its own terms and conditions. Luxury Scotland properties are mainly privately owned and each has its own set of guest terms and conditions. When you are ready to confirm a booking of both your hotels and chauffeur driven car, all the terms will be carefully outlined for each property. We would always recommend ensuring you have a robust and up to date personal travel insurance policy in place for any trip you take.
When is this experience available from?
As soon as the restrictions on non-essential travel, and any variation to these guidelines issued by the Government, are lifted we would anticipate being able to offer these, subject to availability.
What are the costs involved?
The cost for each trip will vary depending upon hotel availability, car type and the length of the trip. Prices for the Costal Retreat experience start from £3,600 based on two people on a room only basis, with arrival and departure transfers and time with your touring chauffeur conducting local sightseeing.
